Searching for 1929 Tudor A1880014
March 21 - We had an inquiry from a member who is looking for a 1929 Tudor Sedan that his grandfather purchased in 1929 from Leadbetter Motors in Detroit, West Vernor Highway at Vinewood. His father is the baby held by his grandmother in the photo at right.
The car was purchased on July 8, 1929 for $525 plus accessories: $15 for bumpers, $12.50 for spare tire and tube, $8 for gas and oil, $13.55 for tax and title for a total of $579.15. The family still has the sales receipt!
Our member wonders if the car still exists. so if you have a 1929 Tudor,
check to see if the serial number is A1880014. If you know where it is, please contact the webmaster and I will put you in touch with the grandson.
mafca visits cuba
March 13 - Jim Spawn, editor of The Restorer magazine has just completed a visit to Havana Cuba, shown here with Dr. Nelys Leal Navas. She owns a
1929 Ford Phaeton that has been in her family since the 1930's.
Dr. Nelys became our first Cuban MAFCA member and
Jim presented her with our "This Lady Drives A Model A" patch.
Watch The Restorer for a thorough report on Jim's Cuban
adventures and the Model A hobby there.
March 10 - Now that we're into a new year, it's a good time for all chapters to check their information on the CHAPTERS PAGE to make sure your contact information is correct. The Chapter pages are a key resource for new people to find out about your club and your meeting information, so please check your chapter's info and ask one of your officers to send in any changes.
If your chapter mailing address is not correct, please send corrections directly to MAFCA headquarters by email or by calling (562) 697-2712 Monday - Friday from 10AM to 4PM Pacific time. The webmaster cannot change your chapter address via your request - all address changes are submitted by MAFCA headquarters to me.
2017 National Tour update
March 2 -
The Bakersfield Model A Ford Club is the host of this year's National Tour. The tour will start at the Estrella Warbird Air Museum in Paso Robles, California.
The meet opens on Sunday, September 24 at noon. After you pick up your registration packet, you will have time to visit the vintage airplanes and the museum before the kick off dinner at 6:30 PM. We have a secured area, also located at the museum, in which to park your motor home and trailer before leaving to explore the beautiful California coast.
March 3 - "News Flash!" The National Tour organizers are aware of the recent bridge wash out on our original tour route and they have already laid out an alternate route around the bad section of road. The Tour will go on!
A new description of the tour and a registration form have been added to the
Photo of the week
